From the late 1960s until last year, the austere New Scotland Yard building, in the Whitehall conservation area, was home to the Metropolitan Police — and the backdrop to many a cop show and news report. It is now being redeveloped by Northacre into a 1.72-acre quarter, the Broadway, with design by Squire & Partners.
